Dr Diane Miller has been making wine for Bellarmine since the first vintage in 2004. Di started her working life as a vet in the U.K. and Australia. During that time Di pursued her interest in wine, planning her holidays around visiting the wine regions of Europe, including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and the Rhone Valley in France, and Ribera Del Duero, Rioja, Jerez, and Madrid in Spain. Eventually Di decided to take the leap into a new career as a winemaker and completed a degree in oenology. After working at wineries in Oregon (USA) and Margaret River, Di took on the position of head winemaker at Porongorup Winery in the Great Southern, where she made wines for more than 20 clients, including Bellarmine Wines.
After taking on the management of Bellarmine Wines in 2008, Di travelled through Germany with Bellarmine owners Willi and Gudrun Schumacher to further her knowledge of wine, particularly German Riesling. Di's winemaking abilities have seen Bellarmine Wines included in James Halliday's Top 100 Wineries.
